The Man Who Built the Gate

Meet Cormac Brennan, a master builder in County Clare whose name is etched in bronze on the finest buildings in the land. For decades, Cormac has moved from one project to the next, surrounding himself with the "swords" of contracts and deadlines until he can no longer see the world outside his work.

When a sudden health scare forces him into six weeks of mandatory stillness, Cormac is installed in a chair by the kitchen window to face his greatest challenge: the garden. As the autumn leaves of the Virginia creeper turn red against the stone walls he raised, Cormac begins to realize that while he built the house, his family built the home.
